NBC’s musical reality TV program, The Voice, brought the network a Tuesday night victory with a 4.6 rating / 13 share in the 18 to 49 market according to estimates from Nielsen. The show, which aired in the 8pm slot ahead of the latest Obama Vs Romney face off and attracted 12 million viewers – an increase on last week’s episode.

Knowing that all 8pm shows would be up against the presidential debate in the western half of the country and therefore posting lower ratings, CBS decided to air a re-run of NCIS: Los Angeles. In addition to competition from the politcal programming, TBS also aired the third game in the American League Championship Series which pulled many viewers away from both the debate and other programming. These figures are still estimates an may alter significantly once the true national ratings are analyzed.
