Lionsgate have been playing around with some of their scheduled release dates this week, announcing that Stuart Beattie’s ‘I, Frankenstein’ starring Aaron Eckhart will be delayed by 7 months from its scheduled February 22 release to now be launched on September 13, 2013. They will be pushing thriller ‘Snitch’ starring Dwayne Johnson into the February slot.

I, Frankenstein is an adaptation of comic book writer (turned actor and screenwriter) Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel of the same name. The film sees the iconic creature locked in a centuries old war between two immortal clans and is set in a present day dark and gothic metropolis.

The film taking the slot originally intended for I, Frankenstein in Lionsgate release calendar is Snitch, directed by Ric Roman Waugh. Featuring Dwayne Johnson and co-star Michael K Williams, the thriller involves a narcotics kingpin (Williams) involved with a DEA snitch (Johnson) who is trying to get his son’s prison sentence reduced.
