NBC’s drama ‘Revolution’ is cashing in on the prime slot following smash ‘The Voice’ it seems, with preliminary estimates showing an average 4.1 rating/11 in adult viewers aged 18-49 and 11.7 million viewers overall. NBC chose to premier the show a week before the official start of the television season.

This is the strongest start for any NBC drama in the last five years and the best for any network drama in 3 years. The best news for NBC is that the show did not just post great figures at the start because viewers were still tuned in, most of them stuck around to watch the entire show with polls at 10.30pm showing ratings of 3.8/10.

Last season NBC were struggling to launch fall drama with any success with the ‘Playboy Club’ managing only a weak 1.6/4 rating. The only good result came with mid season premier and musical drama ‘Smash’ which was aired after The Voice and posted a 3.8/10 and drew a total of 11.4 million viewers.
