Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ is perhaps one of the most highly anticipated releases of 2012. It has been almost a decade since Spielberg revealed his intent to take on a biopic of the iconic Abraham Lincoln, optioning the rights to “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” before the book had even been released. Initially, the title role was earmarked for Liam Neeson, but as time dragged on the actor was deemed to be too old and was dropped in favour of double Oscar winner Daniel Day Lewis when filming finally began last year.

Spielberg has done a stellar job of hyping the release, slated for November 9, with not a single production shot, teaser or trailer being released until this past week. Now that the trailer is finally here interest in the film has reached fever pitch. With a star studded supporting cast including Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones and James Spader the film looks set to be a box office smash.
