ABC have ordered up an new aquatic contest from Eyeworks USA which carries the working title ‘ Celebrity Splash’. The show will see various celebrities training to perform a variety of diving challenges. The show has already proved popular in the Dutch market where it was broadcast this summer on SBS 6.

Following this success, Eyeworks, who were formerly 3 Ball productions, have been pitching the format to various global buyers at the Mipcom sales confab in Cannes. In addition to the ABC deal, Eyeworks is also setting up deals in he UK, France and Australia. J.D. Roth, Todd Nelson and Brant Pinvidic of Eyeworks are attached as executive producers for the skein.

The show is similar in format to shows such as Dancing With The Stars in that celebrity contestants will do increasingly difficult dives and be judged by professionals in the field.
