ABC Family have given the go ahead for three brand new pilots for next year, continuing to strengthen their portfolio of original programming.

The first pilot is for hour long skein ‘Terminales’ adapted from a Televisa series. The drama which follows a young lady who is diagnosed with a terminal illness and will be written by Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz. Lionsgatewill produce in association with Televisa.

The other two pilots are for half hour comedies from Prodco Inc. The first, ‘Phys Ed’will center on a former jock returning to his high school in the role of a teacher, written an dproduced by David H Steinberg. In a similar vein, ‘Continuing Fred’ follows female lead ‘Winifred Harris, or Fred to her friends, as she embarks on a teaching career at an elementary school. The pilot will be penned by Bill Daly.

Added to ABC Family’s recent acquisitions of dramas ‘The Fosters’ and ‘Socio’, these three additional pilots will strengthen the channel’s standing in both comedy and drama in the next year.
